Share of the Day

This section highlights one single stock each day. To qualify as share of the day, a stock needs to pass a set of highly stringent performance criteria. These are so strict that on some days there may not be any share eligible to appear here - in which case this section will be empty.

To qualify, a share must fulfil the following criteria:

• Share price has advanced by at least 2% today and is 25p or above
• It has closed at or near its intraday high
• A minimum of £50K were turned over in this stock today
• The stock has been actively traded, with its volume exceeding three times the usual volume (50-day average)
• At least 80% of the turnover are attributed to buying activity
• Marketmakers have exchanged some shares at or near the ASK price, but none at or near the BID price - due to unexpected demand for this stock
